14th Annual Minnesota Pavement Conference

This one-day conference will present sessions that look at current practices implementing new pavement research and technology. National and local trends and innovations will be examined to expand our understanding of pavement challenges and solutions.

This year’s conference will highlight innovative low-volume road construction practices, environmentally sensitive road construction and maintenance techniques, and the issue of heavy traffic and loads.

In addition, U.S. Rep. James L. Oberstar, chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, will address the conference (by video) about infrastructure needs and priorities in a new federal surface transportation authorization act. In addition, Bernie Arseneau, Mn/DOT director of policy, safety, and strategic initiatives, will speak on behalf of Mn/DOT commissioner Tom Sorel.

Who Should Attend

City engineers, county engineers, public works officials, street superintendents, maintenance superintendents, managers, design engineers, consulting engineers, and others interested in pavement issues.

Rooms have been reserved at the Radisson Hotel Roseville (2450 N. Cleveland Avenue, Roseville, MN 55113, 651-636-4567) for a special conference rate of $99 (plus tax) per night. Reservations must be made by January 20, 2010. Please identify yourself as a participant of the University of Minnesota Pavement Conference. Complimentary shuttle service to the Continuing Education and Conference Center is available.

Parking & Transit

Parking is available adjacent to the conference center in lot S104 for $6.00 per day or in the fairgrounds lot across the street for $3.75 per day. Parking is also available in Gortner Ramp (hourly rate). More information is on the conference center Web page.

Credit

Attendees of the conference may receive 6.5 professional development hours (PDHs).

Participants who attend the entire conference will receive 0.65 continuing education units (CEUs) signifying six hours of program participation. One (1.0) CEU is defined as 10 hours of participation in an organized continuing education program. A CEU certificate will be sent to each participant after the conference. The University of Minnesota Transcripts Office maintains a permanent record of CEUs earned.
