Minnesota's Road to Volunteer Drivers Virtual Forum Series
1st Stop: Current State and a Look into the Future of Volunteer Drivers

This will be the first stop in the MCOTA volunteer driver virtual forum series, Minnesota's Road to Volunteer Drivers. The purpose of this first virtual forum is to address the state of volunteer drivers in Minnesota and the vision and goals of the series. Participants are encouraged to take this opportunity to ask questions and provide comments to the upcoming forum speakers in order to assist in giving direction to their content.
John Doan, Chief Executive Officer, Mobility 4 All and MCOTA Council Member
John Doan, P.E. is cofounder and CEO of Mobility 4 All, the personalized ride service for seniors and people with disabilities. Our tech platform, called MO, matches riders who need reliable, on-demand, door thru door service with fully vetted and trained CareDrivers. Mobility 4 All is a 21st century special transportation solution that puts care first and is personalized to serve riders that expect and need a higher level of service.
As a public sector entrepreneur, John is dedicated to ensuring that autonomous vehicles, mobility as a service and shared use mobility are accessible, equitable and affordable for all people. John honorably served as a Civil Engineer Corps officer in the US Navy, engineer at MnDOT and Hennepin County, Vice President for a national consulting firm and graduated from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government with a focus on housing, transportation and urban development. John was an appointed member to the Metropolitan Council and currently serves on the Minnesota Board on Aging.
Tom Gottfried, MnDOT and MCOTA Executive Director (moderator)
Tom Gottfried is the Executive Director for Minnesota Council on Transportation Access (MCOTA) and Program Director for Mobility Management with the MnDOT Office of Transit and Active Transportation (OTAT). Tom has over 40 years of transportation and transit experience from operations to management. Tom is a Metro State University graduate in Business Administration and has a Masters in Business Management from St. Thomas University. Tom's 30 years of experience with MnDOT OTAT has ranged from Grant Specialist, Program Administrator to Supervisor to Manager, and to his current role as Executive Director of MCOTA.

The virtual forum is free to attend, but registration is required. Once you register, you will receive an email confirmation with the Zoom® log-in information and you will be registered for all the virtual forum series events – you may attend as many as you wish using the same information. The log-in information should not be shared with others; each person must register individually to receive the log-in information directly. You will also receive an email reminder with the log-in information one day prior to and one hour prior to the start of each virtual forum.
If you're unable to join for the live broadcasts, a recording of each event with captioning and ASL interpretation will be available on the event web page following each event.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. There will be ASL interpretation at this event and contact information is below if you need ASL assistance with this email announcement or registration. You can submit questions for any of the virtual forum series topics now or at any time. Questions will be shared with the relevant speakers ahead of time.
